Up 'e riverside at nicht
Ye stroll in peaceful bliss
A winsome lassie by yir side
a luvl'y pleice 'iss

'E pathy's roch an' guttry too,
Except fan weather's dry,
Hid's border'd by a band o'gress,
An' rashes shoolder hugh.

Ecross 'e watter by 'at bush,
'E Fairy Hillag stan's,
Wi many a secret ro'd inside
No' made by mortal han's

Since Adam's day 'e Fairies, Boy!
Liv'd inside 'iss ould hillag,
An' curse or blissin' did impart
On Kirsty, or on wullag.

Ye wander on, 'e moon on high
Enchantan beams throw down,
Ye squeeze 'e bonnie lassie's han'
Some day, she'll be yir own.

Or ye may sit on 'at gress bank
Yer lassie in yr airms,
'Iss pleice for coortan's hard til beit,
Week river hez her charms.
