Dounreay
Dounreay is an area of Caithness most famous nowadays for the nuclear power establishment started in 1950. It stands near the site of a 16th century castle fomer seat of the lords of Reay. It was a small three storey L plan tower house. the sphere at the power plant became operational in 1959. The complex has grown especially in the 1960's and 1970's.
