Pulteneytown Academy Dear Parent June Newsletter Sorry this Newsletter is a week late, but June is a very hectic month as I am sure you will all appreciate! Reports to Parents These will be issued tomorrow along with a Parent Response Sheet, a Parents Evening/Afternoon Appointment Request Form and a letter of explanation about the format of the Report which has changed again this year. It is very important that you do read the explanatory letter along with the Report. It is extremely nice to get positive feedback on the Parent Response Sheet as well as any questions you may wish to discuss with the class teacher. Time for arranging appointments will be limited so please return the Request Form as soon as you can and by Friday of this week by the latest. You will be notified of appointment times on Monday. Sports Days - Weather permitting Senior Sports Wednesday 9 June 1.30 p.m. and Infant Sports Thursday 10 June 1.30 p.m. All welcome. Bottled water will be on sale at 45p but no tuck. Parents Meetings Tuesday 15 June appointments will begin from 6 p.m. onwards and Wednesday 16 June appointments will begin 4 p.m. onwards. This is a variation on our usual appointment times and has been done in response to some parents who feel it would be easier to come along at the end of the school day rather than later on in the evening. I would anticipate appointments will continue until approximately 8.30 p.m. at the latest on the Tuesday evening, but will be completed by 6 p.m. on the Wednesday. Please put any special requests, e.g. after 5 p.m., before 8 p.m. etc. on your return slip and I will TRY to comply with these as much as possible. Next Years Classes Details of classes and staffing will be available on the stage on Parents Evenings. Parents of children with IEPs will be given dates for end of term meetings in the course of this week. BBQ Thursday 24 June (please note change of day) 5 p.m. The theme this year is the CIRCUS and to add some extra glamour we have bought a few new games, are introducing some different stalls and are putting together a programme of demonstrations in the circus ring. There will also be a fancy dress competition for different age groups held throughout the evening. PSA Committee Members will be contacting you this week to book you up for stalls and as helpers if you indicated on the tear-off form last week that you were available. Once we have confirmed that all the activities can take place, as this is dependent on having enough helpers, the PSA will issue a flier giving all the main details and requesting the usual items such as bottles, baking, groceries, raffle prizes, etc. End of Term Treat Nursery P5 will be getting a visit from Mr Boom who is planning to land his spaceship in the Hall on Tuesday 29 June. Surplus Furniture The school has been replacing tables in senior classes and we have a surplus of the old ones and also some plastic chairs. If any parent would like a table and a chair or two for their child to do their homework, please let office staff know and we will arrange for one to be set aside for you (while stocks last) and these will be available for pick-up in the last week of term. End of Term Service Thursday 1 July 11 a.m. in the school hall family and friends all welcome. Parents may take children home at the end of the Service but if not they will be dismissed for the summer break at 12 noon. School opens for pupils Tuesday 17 August. Yours sincerely |
