A meeting is to be held amongst
interested people to form a new Caithness Health Forum.
The purpose of the forum would be to provide an opportunity to express
local concerns about health care in the area. Now that the decision
making is increasingly centred in Inverness there is a need for a local
body to present a reasoned case to the decision makers. NHS Highland
have indicated that they will cooperate with such a forum through senior
officers being present at meetings at least four times a year.
The purpose of the meeting on Thursday 15th will be to:
1 Discuss the value of setting up such a forum.
2. To set up a Sterring Committee to draw up a constitution for the Forum.
3 To decide on future action.
4 To discuss, if time permits, other pressing local health issues.
This is a genuine opportunity for the Caithness Community to let its views
be known on Health matters. If we don't speak up for Caithness no
one else will.
