World Book Day - 14 March 2002 World Book Day is on 14 March in the UK and there are displays in Wick and Thurso libraries. It is also Bedtime Reading Week. Schools and libraries all over the country are celebrating the day and every child will receive a £1 book token through their school to help purchase a book. there are also 5 world book titles that will cost £1. All children visiting the Wick or Thurso library on Thursday will receive a special Scottish Book Trust bookmark that is aimed at encouraging children to start their own book collection. A web site My Home Library also encourages the habit of building a collection by offering FREE book plates for the inside of the books. Both libraries in Caithness will be hosting exhibitions of books and pyjamas and a number of playgroups and nurseries are visiting the libraries for story sessions.
