About 0145 hrs. on Sunday 27th. January, 2002, a road accident occurred on the
A99 Latheron to Wick road opposite the Smiddy Inn, Thrumster, Caithness,
whereby a pedestrian was struck and injured by a motor car.

As a result of the accident the pedestrian a 22yr. old male from Thrumster,
sustained serious injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to Caithness General
Hospital, Wick, before being transferred by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal
Infirmary, Aberdeen.

The occupants of the vehicle were uninjured.
