Brian Mackay Reports On Saturdays' Win For Thurso FC
On Saturday afternoon Thurso F.C won their sixth trophy since formation in 1998 after defeating Balintore in The PCT Cup Final 1-0 at Dudgeon Park in Brora.

The only goal of the game was scored by former Brora Rangers forward Lee MacDougall with approx. 15 minutes to go. It was a deserved win for Thurso as agreed by the opposition in the social club afterwards.

I am sure everyone will agree this is a fine achievement by a club just only five years old.

Thurso F.C are currently 10 points off the lead in the North Caledonian League championship so cup competitions look like the only source of silverware for the club this season. Thurso start their defence of the two cups (Morris Newton and Football Times) they won last year in the treble winning season.

Here's to more silverware in the cabinet but I am not sure I can handle another hangover like the one I have today.

Back row - left to right
Gus Mackay (coach), John Arrowsmith (coach), Jack Mackay, Brian Mackay (website editor), Allan Sutherland, Kevin Morris, Brian Gray, Shaun Moar, Roddy Hamilton (physio / kit man), Duncan Gray (manager).

In addition, midfielder Willie Inrig was taken off with a dislocated elbow after 10 minutes of the game, replaced by Philip Makhouli and spent the night in Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and now has his arm in plaster.
