MV Shearwater is 40 years old and is on hire from Moray council. The vessel is mainly used for dredging at the ports of Buckie and Burghead but is also hired out to other ports. A crew of five is employed. Wick requires dredging from time to time to remove silt that scomes from the Wick river. In recent years this has not been carried out
