THURSO IN BLOOM
Scottish Charity No. SC0131337Thurso in Bloom was founded in February 2000 by public- spirited people with a strong sense of civic pride and is open to the “like- minded”, including under- 16 - year olds. Initially to encourage local folk to brighten up Thurso by providing hanging baskets and other local floral displays for the benefit of residents and visitors.

At the Annual General Meeting in January 2006 a new secretary Janice Hardie was elected.  The other office bearers remain the same.

For this year the order has been made for hanging baskets which will be put out for the summer.  Again Tthurso In Bloom members will be helping with the Beach clean ups which includes cleaning up before the Surfing event at Thurso East on 25 April.  Members will be collecting cans at Halkirk during the Northern Nashville Caithness Country Music Festival on 14-16 April.  The can collection is a good source of income for Thurso In Bloom.

The bulbs for the 2006 Spring Bulb competition have been given to the three primary schools in Thurso.
Further information can be obtained from contacting Thurso In Bloom at 1 Brabster Street, Thurso Caithness, KW14 7AP, or by Fax on 01847 893854
