York Visit -Batch One
April/May 2001

Thirty-Two pupils and four staff members from Miller Academy, Thurso had a great week in York.  The Blakeney Hotel did the group proud.  The rooms were very comfortable, the welcome friendly, the breakfasts and packed lunches superb and the evening meal 'out of this world'.  Children had a three course dinner with a choice of thee main courses and all special diets were catered for.

All returned safe, well, tired and exhilarated by a wonderful six days in the sun.

The York trip included visits to Jorvik, The Archaeological Trust, Clifford's Tower, the York Dungeon, The Shambles and Market, a Walls Walk and a journey across the Pennines to Manchester to Old Trafford and the I-Max Cinema.

Evening activities included swimming, ten-pin bowling, a ghost walk, a cinema visit and a final night disco to one of the best disco jockeys for a children's event seen by the school.

Anything is possible in Caithness
