Gossip about Birds

During the winter a firecrest made itself at home among the trees at Thurso riverside living among the goldcrests which look very similar to the firecrest. This is a most rare observation in this part of Britain.Great Spotted Woodpeckers were seen in the vicinity of Thurso during the winter. Several sightings of Long-tailed Tits were reported in the county recently.
Bewick Swans, a Snowy Owl and a Crane are among the other interesting visitors.
