Long a place of settlement the earliest building still showing is the Ousdale broch 100BC – AD100.
It is possibly one of the best in Caithness still standing to a height of 6 feet and sitting in a prime position
for defensive purposes on the Ousdale burn where it reaches the sea. (No pictures yet of the broch)
