Halloween
 Balmore Visit
The Wick Girls' Group visited the Animal
Welfare Centre at Balmore. They were given the
opportunity to look at all of the dogs and cats brought in and even got to
cuddle some of the little kittens! They would like to say a big
thanks to Jimmy and Issy at the centre for showing them around and they
hope to visit again soon.

WICK GIRLS
In Cone Zone Challenge Sep 2002
Six girls from the girls group
went to Dunnet Forest to compete in the Cone Zone challenge, which was
organised by the Ranger Service. There were six mental & physical
challenges for them to participate in and find their way around the
forest. The girls formed two teams of three and had an enjoyable Saturday
morning completing the tasks.
May News
Last Thursday the girls group made a meal of Chicken Fahitas and Banana
and Strawberry Split. It was a good laugh and taught the girls a few
things about cooking and cleaning up - the worst bit!
In the following weeks we're taking a trip up to
the Ambulance station to have a look around. Also, we're holding a BBQ -
in a secret location - come along to find out where it'll be. There's also
an outdoor challenge next month which will be all about team work, using
your brain and lots of laughs. Finally, before we break up for the summer
there's a trip to Thurso for some ten pin bowling and dinner - transport
will be provided.

New Group Looking

Wick Girls' Group meets on Thursday nights from 7.00 - 9.00pm in the Wick
Community Education Buildings, Ackergill Street, Wick. The Group is open to girls in secondary school.
Activities at the group include quiz night; arts & crafts, listening to
music and any other ideas which the members come up with. Admittance 50p.
If any girls are interested please come along, we are always looking for

for Nina or Marie.
Girls Sponsored Walk

The girls did a sponsored walk on 15 October, starting from
the Community Education Buildings in Ackergill Street to Noss Head
Lighthouse and back again. 8 miles in total which took the girls about 3
hours with some stops for drinks, sweets, and crisps to keep them going!
The money they raised will go towards activities for the Girls' Group.
