I was very happy to see the photo of Reay School
1933, as my mother, Mollie Fyfe, my Aunt, Mavis Fyfe, and my uncle
Peter Fyfe were in it. I have many family photos from my mother’s
family, but some unknown ones as well, two of which I have attached.
The car has an SK license plate, so it must be local!

I’m thrilled to bits to have come across this photograph in the School
Days section of Caithness.Org.
I have three relations pictured on it. My two Uncles, Billy and Stewart
Simpson and my Mum listed as Sissy Simpson, she was in fact Helen
Simpson, but I remember her telling me that she was called sissy when
she was little.
The family moved to Dumfriesshire in September 1938 at the outbreak of
the war. Two of them (there were 5 children altogether) stayed there
for the rest of their lives. My brother and sister were born there and
then my parents moved south to Herefordshire before I was born.
Sadly all but one are now gone. The youngest sister (born in Reay) is
still living.
