Cindy's Banana Cream Pie

2/3 cups sugar

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 cups milk

4 egg yolks, slightly beaten

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon vanilla

3 bananas

1 baked pie shell

Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, milk, and egg yolks in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat and stir until it has boiled for 1 minute. Take pan off heat and stir in the butter and vanilla. Cool to room temperature. Slice the bananas into pie crust and pour the custard over the top. Chill for at least 2 hours. Serve with whipped cream on top.
