A comprehensive service in Highland with aims as follows -
to promote sexual health and well-being, without discrimination, to all sections of the Highland community
to provide information, practical and emotional support, and referrals to appropriate agencies on the subject of sexual health
to encourage service users, as appropriate to take responsibility for their own health and well-being
to enable those people in the community who are sexually active, or who are about to become sexually active, to make informed choices to provide education and awareness on issues relating to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) to foster understanding, support and a spirit of non-discrimination for those affected/infected by HIV, as well as men who have sex with men and women who have sex with women to challenge prejudice and stigma on issues relating to sexual health and lifestyles.

How the STI epidemic is overwhelming Britain's sexual health service.
Ignore the warnings in this programme at your peril. Sexually transmitted diseases in Britain are rising fast and they can have a dramatic affect on your life. Sexually transmitted disease clinics are overwhelmed with new patients and there can be long waiting times meaning you get worse.
the big dangers are -
Chlamydia - danger of making you infertile and not able to have children.
HIV/Aids - Incurable
Syphylis - Cured if caught in time
Gonorrhoea - Curable but rotten symptoms if treatment delayed.
Genital Warts Condoms may not protect you as skin contact can spread the infection.

How Can You Avoid Problems?
Don't Drink Too Much Alcohol. This often leads into situations you might otherwise avoid. Is a one night stand worth years of problems which at worst might ruin your chances of having children or finding a decent partner. Think about and then you decide.

Avoid having sex more than one partner and only do so with someone you trust to be faithful. Remember people happily settled with a partner have more sex than singles cruising the bars.

Remember gay relationships carry all the same risks and the same advice applies.
