Liam Henderson Born on Dec. 17, 1979, to John, Janice and older brother John. Liam's dad describes his son as a cheery, obliging person who had been highly regarded by a great many people. He recalled his son's early interest in football - taking him to big games from the age of eight. Liam was a 1997 graduate of PeaRidge High School, where he was involved in the Foreign Student Exchange Program. He was also a member of the Pea Ridge High School FFA and the school Golf Team. He attended NorthWest Arkansas Community College from 1997-1999. Whilst studying at university Liam hooked up with Jeff Riley and his team at Imajica where he displayed a talent for all things new media (and entertainment). After graduating from the Robert Gordon University in the summer Liam had taken up employment with Grampian NHS in its IT department, upgrading its computer systems. The back of his home in Newmachar looked out onto the Colts' pitch and Liam, an ex-East End player, was right behind the local side when he wasn't supporting his home-town team, Wick Academy, on their Aberdeenshire sojourns in the Highland League. He also, of course, followed the fortunes of Rangers and his beloved Scotland. Grant Wright, who sponsors the local Newmachar Colts, described Liam as very much one of the boys. "As I told John and Janice, 'You couldn't have wished for a better son.' Liam knew all the young players and they became personal friends." Grant adds: "As Rangers supporter he was somewhat in the minority here and came in for a bit of ribbing, but it was all in good fun." |
