Passengers are advised that severe weather has this week had a substantial impact on air services between Wick and Aberdeen, which are operated under a Public Service Obligation (PSO) contract between The Highland Council and Eastern Airways. Passengers are advised to check with the airline for any updates before travelling and note that there may be delays or cancellations to services as a result of ongoing severe weather.

Average UK private rents increased by 8.7% in the 12 months to October 2024 (provisional estimate); this is up from 8.4% in the 12 months to September 2024. Average rents increased to £1,348 (8.8%) in England, £766 (7.9%) in Wales, and £976 (6.6%) in Scotland, in the 12 months to October 2024.

ONS labour market statistics have misrepresented recent trends in the UK labour market - by under-estimating the growth in employment by 930,000 workers since 2019, and over-estimating the extent of economic inactivity, according to new Resolution Foundation research published on Wednesday 20 November 2024. As the new Government prepares to publish a White Paper that reaffirms its ambition of an 80 per cent employment rate.

Economic Activity And Social Change In The Uk Real-time Indicators - 21 November 2024

Overall retail footfall increased by 4% in the week to 17 November 2024 when compared with the previous week and was 2% higher when compared with the equivalent week of 2023. The week-on-week increases in overall retail footfall were seen across shopping centres, retail parks and high streets, which grew by 5%, 4% and 3%, respectively (MRI OnLocation).
