Berry, Hudson Street Mr. Donald, Angus Miller, who was 45 years of age, was born at Wick (actually was born in Latheron, Caithness, Scotland), in the north of Scotland and came to Rochdale in 1914 as travelling representative for Mr. Smithies. For the last five years he had occupied the position of manager. Mr. Miller was well known in the town as the bass vocalist. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church choir and was always ready to help the choirs of other churches at anniversary services or other festivals. He was an active member of the Philharmonic Orchestral and Choral Society and was one of the basses in the chorus. Mr. Miller was keenly interest in sport, being a member of the Rochdale Association Football Club. This season he had also become a member of the Rochdale Cricket Club. He leaves a widow and seven children. The funeral will take place at the Rochdale Cemetery on Tuesday at 2 o’clock. On enquiry yesterday we were glad to hear that Miss Isabella Niven of 16 Finsbury Street, Rochdale, who was badly cut about the face and neck in the same accident is making good progress towards recovery. |
