Two Miller Sisters Marry On Same Day
John O'Groat Journal, 29 March 1912. Nigel Roberton Miller was the first baby baptised by Rev. Nigel Roberton in the Free Church in Wick. Hence, my g. uncle was named Nigel Roberton Miller after the Reverend. Rev. Nigel Roberton also married Nigel Roberton Miller to Christina (Teenie) Miller. Christina's sister Hellen Miller m George L. Bartlett on the same date, 29 March 1912, same place and by Rev. Nigel Roberton. After Nigel was killed in action on 6 April 1916, his wife, Christina (Teenie) Miller, and sons Alexander and David, sailed home to live with her parents, David and Helen Miller nee: Macaulay at 43 Wellington St., Wick. The ship they were on was torpedoed, but they were able to make it safely to land. Christina and her sons did return to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she married Thomas Gribble. |
