Miller Family
Military Information
I also have the original package it came in dated January 15, 1922 - O.H.M.S. - valuable document within.  This plaque was sent to Mrs. Margaret Miller, his mother, my g. grandmother.  Marcus, McIvor Miller - b. 16 June 1889 - Wick - d. 7 Oct 1916 - Camp Hughes Hospital, Manitoba, Canada.  He was in the Canadian Army and died during WW1.  The owner of the ship, my g. grandfather, Capt. Alexander Miller - Ship Ban-Righ was named Marcus McIvor.  You will see that in the documents I have sent you so one would assume Marcus McIvor Miller was named after him.  I've often wondered if there was any relationship between the Miller's and Marcus McIvor.  Although, my g.grandfather's brother, who emigrated to Australia named all his children after ships.
Marcus McIvor Miller also served in the British Forces - Seaforth Territorials for a little over 3 years prior to emigrating to Canada.
