Day Of Mourning Friday 14

In recognition of those killed in the tragic events
in the United States of America on 11 September the European Union has
declared that Friday 14 September willbe a day of mourning across
Europe, in line with the day of mourning which has been declared in the
USA. all Europeans are being asked to observe 3 minutes silence at
12 noon European time - 11.00am in the UK. The Scottish Cabinet has endorsed a statement by Jack Straw, the Home Secretary, that the silence will be observed in the United Kingdom and the Scottish Executive will be honouring the 3 minutes silence at 11.ooam on Friday 14 September. The Executive also wishes to encourage all public authorities and others to observe the silence. |
