BOGUS TELEPHONE CALLS On 7th October 2002, a number of residents in the Lochaber area reported having received a telephone call, from a male person, purporting to represent various national companies offering credit reference checks or a free mobile phone, in exchange for banking details. Police in Lochaber wish to reinforce the message previously issued by Inverness police, The the public should be on guard when 'cold
calls' are received and advise that it is not best practice to give
banking details in such circumstances.. |
