Bear Shave Raises Staggering £1910 For Renal Unit 19 December 2002
Back in October Donald Campbell had his beard shaved to raise money for the new renal unit.  The money has all been collected and it kept rolling in to reach an amazing £1910.  Donald who works for Stevens Transport received a donation from the firm of £250.  He would like to thank all the contributors who made every hair count.........

Most Expensive Beard In Caithness Shaved For Renal Unit
Donald Campbell a driver with D Steven & Son had his beard shaved off on Saturday 5 October 2002 to raise funds for Caithness General Hospital - Renal Unit.  Donald who has been the proud owner of a beard since 1980 had it all shave off today with the help of Amanda Steven from Streaks Ahead, Hairdressers, 2 Victoria Place, Wick.

   

At time of shaving Donald had already raised about £1400 with more still to come in from various sponsors.  The money will go towards purchasing equipment for the new Renal Unit being built at Caithness General and which will open in a few months. 

The Caithness Kidney Dialysis Support Group has seen many section of the community and individuals like Donald Campbell come forward with ideas to support them in the past year.  This is undoubtedly another great boost to their efforts.
