FIRE AT NORSEMAN HOTEL, WICK
About 0125 hours on Friday 1 November, 2002, Highlands and Islands Fire Brigade were requested to attend at the Norseman Hotel, Riverside, Wick following a fire breaking out in the kitchen of the hotel.

All 14 guests and one member of staff had safely left the premises prior to the Fire Brigade arrival. Ambulance staff also attended as a precaution.

The fire was confined to the kitchen and the roof area immediately above and was extinguished by HIFB.

The guests have been found alternative accommodation while HIFB continue to make the area safe.
There were no casualties as a result of this incident.
