Wick Model Yacht Club Versus Orkney Model Yacht Club
4 May 2002

The Caithness club was joined for a weekend of competitions racing the yachts on Loch Sarclet.   The first day was a superb day for racing with excellent wind conditions.  It also turned out to be a very bright and sunny day - perfect for the competitors and spectators.

The Orkney folk normally race at their home water "The Peedie Sea" In Kirkwall.  They are staying in Wick until Monday and have another competition day on Sunday.  The Caithness club had organised enough food to feed an army and the tea and coffee was on tap all day.  Hungry thirsty work chasing those yachts up and down the loch.  We think it should be another walking club - you would certainly get fit walking up and down the loch.
