Friday evening saw the kick off for the
second Northern Nashville Country Music Festival. A large crowd gathered
to see a range of top international artists as well as some local bands.
Bernie Underwood who was compere for the festival kicked of proceedings
with a set followed by the Kate Bain Band.
Arne Benoni who originates from Norway kicked of with many tracks familiar
to Jim Reeves fans, in fact Arne has the last original member of the Jim
Reeves band in his group. The Orkney based band Shogun delivered in true
style another impressive set to close the evening.
Saturday saw the venue packed to capacity. Baillie and the Boys gave
some terrific harmonies during their set which was appreciated by the
audience. David Ball was followed by the "Irish Queen of Country"
Philomena Begley. As soon as she entered the stage the audience was up on
their feet. It just shows that after 40 years in the music business,
she still has that magic touch.
The Northern Nashville Committee and their helpers can be well assured
that they have done the impossible, surpassed last years festival.
More photos wil appear on the
Northern Nashville Web Site shortly
