R M Consultants Ltd Open New Thurso Office - 15 March 2002

 

The highly successful team based at Dounreay opened their new office in Thurso on Friday 15 March 2002.  After being at the UKAEA site for the last few years the time had come to expand their base in the county.  John Thurso MP for the area opened the new premises at 26 Sinclair Street.  He emphasised the importance of companies like R M Consultants who are at the forefront of safety in modern engineering projects.  Their staff of 12 at Dounreay looks set to grow as they look at a range of projects outwith the Dounreay site.

RM Consultants who have offices in Abingdon, Warrington, Cumbria and at Dounreay have over 20 years of experience in risk management, environmental advice to industry, commerce and government.  They employ over 60 engineers and scientists in a range of disciplines.  Their expertise ranges over many industrial sectors including oil and gas, power generation, nuclear, process and chemical industries and road, rail and air transport.

Over the last few years they have been able to bring their experience working with all the major operators to bear on the problems confronting the nuclear industry.  They employ a number of people whom they have trained from the county and have been at the forefront in transferring skills to local people in Caithness.  They are well placed to employ and train further graduates.
