Picture 2 shows choir accompanist Betty Maxwell handing over another �350 cheque, this time to Frances Purves of the Caithness Dialysis Support Group.

The cheques were from the proceeds of a highly successful concert hosted by the choir in March which featured a surprise "This is your musical life" for choir conductor Shirley Lobban, whose contribution to musical life in the area was celebrated by the choir and many friends, and organised by her daughter Hilary.

The presentation took place following Thurso West Ladies Choir's win last night in the Caithness Music Festival at Thurso High School.
