Air Services In Highland Get Extra Support
The Route Development fund for Highland airports is to receive £300,000 from Highlands and Islands enterprise in a bid to encourage more flights to and from the 10 Highlands and Islands airports.     The fund was started with a £1.2million grant from the Scottish Executive and part of the aim is to increase the frequency of flights.

Elizabeth Marshall the Highland Council's Caithness area development manager has announced plans for new early morning and late evening flights from Wick airport to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick with further afield destinations a possibility.

Businesses in Caithness are being asked to support the new services by contacting Mrs Marshall to say if they would use the flights on a regular basis.
