Donations Online Now Beat Phone Donations
New figures released by Oxfam show the internet is now a more popular means of donating money to charity than by telephone.

During the Afghanistan appeal held by Oxfam since October, over 10% of all money raised was donated by the official website, totalling more than £100,000 - double that taken over the phone. Plus, after the recent events in Goma, £16,500 was donated over the internet - three times the amount received in telephone pledges. Other charities which take online donations have also reported a similar pattern.

Caithness.org has hundreds of local charities listed but very few of you are telling people if you are raising money for local projects and whether or not you need or want donations.  Many fundraising initiatives are going on so why not let us know to put a feature on your FREE page.  Let individuals and organisations know what you need whether its cash or goods.  No good hiding your needs in under the proverbial bushel.  The Internet is proving highly successful for the big charities.  They are asking and being rewarded by donations.  So Caithness charities lets see you put up your needs on the pages of the web site.  After all it will only take a few minutes for your committee to describe your latest campaign and who to send in donations.  We will only put up notices for registered charities that give full details of the organisation and its treasurer.   Although you may not be geared up to take online donations you can consider letting people know about your fundraising campaigns on your page.
