Jumpnshout Project Tickets for the forthcoming jumpnshout pop roadshows, which takes place at the Eden Court Theatre on Tuesday 16 April 2002, go on sale from the Box Office on Saturday 2 March 2002. Bands appearing at the pop concerts include chart-toppers Flip and Fill, featuring Kelly Llorenna, Darude, Daphne and Celeste, 3SL (the boy band managed by Lisa from Steps), and even Robbie Williams Massive Head. More and more bands are signing up all the time, and with tickets priced at £5, demand is expected to be very high. The roadshow will be hosted by Kerry Katona (ex-Atomic Kitten and married to Bryan of Westlife). As well as giving young people the chance to host one of the shows by registering, full details of the venues, bands and tickets sale can also be found on the website at: www.jumpnshout.com Jumpnshout is run by the Scottish Drug Enforcement Agency on behalf of the Association of Chief Police Officers for Scotland. It receives funding from the Scottish Drugs Challenge Fund, as administered by Scotland Against Drugs, with further support from Halifax PLC and UK Clubculture. A further 35 private sector companies are also lending their support. The project aims to promote a positive lifestyle message to young people aged from 10 to 16 years, by raising their awareness in regard to local youth provision. Since September 2001, some 200 youth projects from Shetland to Dumfries have been filmed, and the footage is currently being edited and compressed onto a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM will be given out to young people attending the concerts, and this will be backed up by local youth projects also being projected onto a video wall during parts of the concert. Young people can also link into the website and register as members which allows the police, and other agencies, to continue to send young people information about new and exciting activities in their areas. The project has even created its very own pop idols, with eight young acts having won through to take part in the shows. Each act has already recorded a single with local producers, and are currently receiving dance style workshops. Clothes firm D2 clothing is also supplying all the young winners with clothes, and Scottish hairdressers of the year, McIntyres of Dundee, provide them with a makeover and hairstyle. Alistair Ramsay MBE, Director of Scotland Against Drugs said, For talented youngsters across Scotland, jumpnshout.com offers an exciting and unique opportunity for them to meet and work with established bands. This enterprise offers an opportunity for a positive anti-drugs message to be appreciated with popular music. We are delighted that the project is being well received across Scotland.
