University Of Aberdeen
Evening Programme in The Highlands
2005 - 2006
Centre for Lifelong Learning in association with
The Highland Council Education, Culture & Sport Service

Welcome

For more than five centuries, the University of Aberdeen has served the communities of the North-east and Highlands and Islands. Making use of modern technology and different teaching techniques, a number of our courses are now available world-wide as well as at a large number of centres scattered throughout the Highlands and Islands and the whole of North-east Scotland.

Nowhere do past and present come together more than in our Evening Programme of talks. In this booklet you will find a large programme aimed at a wide audience. With many of the talks inspired by the rich and historic environment of the Highlands and Islands, topics range from the distant past to the forefront of modern science. These talks are for you – whatever your interests or previous knowledge of the subjects covered.

Other events include details of our part-time credit bearing programmes; ‘A Portrait of Orkney’ - a one week residential course based in Orkney, summer 2006 and details of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society illustrated talks at their Inverness Centre.

If you would like further information about any of the courses in this booklet, please get in contact and we will assist you in any way we can.

We look forward to welcoming you to our events.
