A triangular shaped building a yellow door is the wet silo, a concrete lined bunker. Waste material has been kept here since the 1970’s and the strategy for cleaning up the shaft includes removing all the waste from this facility and storing it above ground. This is a simpler task than the shaft because it is a more modern, engineered facility. The older facilities, dating back almost half a century, represent the most difficult and expensive decommissioning tasks.
