University of the Philippines Concert
Chorus - A Huge Hit In Caithness Once Again
The
Rotary Club of Thurso sponsored concert by the University of the
Philippines Concert Chorus played to full house at Thurso High School on
Monday evening and a further big audience is expected for their second
concert to night, Tuesday 12th August.
The Chorus make a welcome return to Thurso
after a six year gap. The choir are one of the World�s best and their
Monday performance was ample evidence of their quality. Having moved on
from the Aberdeen International Youth Festival and recently from
performing abroad on their world tour the group will continue to tour the
globe for the 14th time until November.
The UPCC holds the singular honour of being
the only choir in the world to be invited a record ten times to the
Aberdeen International Youth Festival. The choir has also appeared at
four Royal Command Performances.
Members of the choir are being hosted on
their visit by Rotarians and friends.

The Philippines is a country in SE Asia made up of over 7000 islands of

The country became independent in 1946. The population is now over 60
