David Graham Scott TV Programme - Tuesday 6
August 10.30pm Grampian & Scottish TV David Scott a film maker originally from Wick and who returns to visit his mother will be seen on a TV programme tonight "Beyond The Highlands" showing him on a trip from Glasgow where he now lives to Wick. He visits several people in the county in a journey relating his own life experience wrestling with drug addiction. Along the way he meets a few others in Caithness with some different perspectives on living in Caithness. The programme is part of a trilogy and Beyond the Highlands is part two. Among the folk he meets are crofter Peter Stewart, Burnhill, Thrumster, John Angus , Dunbeath, Dr Neville Jones, a writer of letters to the John O'Groat Journal and his family at Mid Clyth. Reflecing the people from around the globe who have come to Canadian is artist Monique Sleidrecht who lives at Freswick Castle.

Sliedrecht has drawn inspiration from much around her in Caithness
from the big and ever changing skies and has sent a stream of work back to
Canada and other places.
From these folk he gets some of the different perspectives of Caithness. Essentially the programme is about a journey to find the strength to fight drug addiction. In the final part of the trilogy and intends to try out a potential cure used in Africa using the iboga root. |
