POLICE CALLED IN TO ASSIST IN
HIGHLANDS & ISLANDS SEARCH |
Northern Constabulary are helping to promote the
search for talented singers to participate in the Jumpnshout.com
competition. The competition is open to singers aged between 16 - 21
years, all they need to do is to send a tape to Jumpnshout, P.O. Box
11827, Stonehaven AB39 3WU by 30th August. Or sing down a hotline

Winners will be given the opportunity to perform with some of the U.K's most famous pop bands in the Scotland wide Jumpnshout roadshow and they will have the opportunity to record the backing track for the concert. Up to 40 singers will be selected from the Highlands and Islands to take part in an audition in Inverness on 4th September 2001. One winner will then be chosen to join other winners from across Scotland on the Jumpnshout roadshow to be held during April 2002. The lucky winners will have the opportunity to
show off their talents on stage during the roadshow with famous UK bands
and gain valuable experience working with major record producers. The
roadshow includes singing at various venues all over Scotland including
Eden Court Theatre, Inverness and the SECC, Glasgow. Inspector
Richard MacAulay, Northern Constabulary Drug & Alcohol Co-ordinator
says, "This is a unique opportunity that may provide the vital
stepping stone to success for talented youth in the Highlands and
Islands. The project has the added benefits of offering an exciting
alternative to drug or alcohol misuse The Jumpnshout.com project is co-ordinated by the Scottish Drug Enforcement Agency on behalf of the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland along with partners in the public and private sector.
