Caithness Citizens Advice - Public Meeting To Form a Pulteney Community Association

South School on Monday 22nd April 7.00pm

Caithness Citizens Advice Bureau have organised and will chair the meeting. No-one has had an influence on how we will run the meeting, we are organising for the residents of Pulteney.  CAB are impartial and independent and don't work to any political agenda.

The meeting is for the residents of Pulteney to get together to decide if they wish to form an association.  If they decide to do this they will be eligible for funding for projects which currently they cannot access. They will also have a joint voice within the community.  It is important that as many residents as possible attend the meeting.  When they attend they will write down their name and address this will be able to use this as a gauge as to how much support there is.

We have organised guest speakers

Jamie Stone - Member of the Scottish Parliament

Eann Sinclair from CASE - will discuss what kind of support CASE can offer and what he did to help with Ormlie.

Pauline Mathers Chair of Ormlie will tell how she got involved and what Ormlie have managed to achieve.

Andi Wakeman will inform residents the support and funding that is available from Community Homes. (formerly Scottish Homes).

Council Representative - How the council can support an organisation in terms of finance and support also a brief outline of the Community Planning process.

Graeme Smith - Councillor/resident.

Niall Smith of Caithness Voluntary Group will be there to advise on starting an Association.

Residents will have the chance to ask questions and they will then decide if they wish to form an association.
