Date: 4 September 2011
Location: Reiss Beach, Caithness
Photographer: Bill Fernie
Reiss Beach is just a short distance from Wick runs from Ackergill to Keiss round the edge of Sinclair Bay. Sometimes you might be lucky to see dolphins. At low tide the boiler of the Aberdeens trawler Jean Stevens can still be seen just off the beach. It ran ashore in a snow storm in 1958. Skirting the bay are a range of different whales and dolphins at various times of year
