The maiden voyage of the new catamaran ferry Pentlina took place on Friday 6 February 2009. the new ferry has an overall length of 70 metres and a sertvice speed of 15kt and maximum speed of 19.7kt. the vessell willbe considerable faster on the crossing to Orkney and can carry 350 passengers and between 32 and 58 cars and nine articulated lorries
