Caithness News Bulletins February 2008
18 March 08 Dunnet Forest Car Park Resurfacing Completed Dunnet Forest car park re-opened on Saturday 15th March one week early in spite of the recent bad weather. An excellent job by main contractor Holt Drainage and John Gunn and Sons who did the surfacing. Stop and admire on your way to the log sales on Saturday 15th March. The car park will be closed without notice for one more day for car park markings when the weather improves and the road marking team is available. Report by Stuart Young 1 March 08 Caithness councillors at their last meeting agreed that the Dunnet forest was used by people from across the county and therefor all wards would contribute towards the upgrade. Dunnet Forestry Trust is delighted to get this level of financial support which reflects the growing popularity of the forest. The Trust is funding the balance from proceeds from the very popular log sales. Work will start on Monday 3rd March and will take about three weeks to complete. Car Park Closed For Three Weeks The work will be carried out by Holt Drainage from Scrabster. There will be some plant and vehicle traffic at the industrial entrance to the forest, but it will be supervised to ensure public safety. Please be vigilant and obey any instructions from the people who will be there to ensure your safety. |
