Caithness Motocross 2006 Trophy Presentations The Caithness Motocross Clubs (CMXC) 2006 season presentation was held in the Janet Street Club in Thurso on Saturday night. A large gathering of riders, parents & grand parents attended the event, which included the trophy presentation, games for the kids as well as the mums & dads, a prize raffle and a Lucky Ticket Draw for a Grand Prix riders race shirt. Caithness Motocross Club has gone from strength to strength over the last few years and this can be clearly seen by the ever increasing numbers of riders attending the events that take place during the year. The club now caters for Quad riders of all ages and this has allowed the club to add new classes into the championship, i.e. Auto Quads, Quads <100cc & Quads 100cc+, which allows kids of between 6 -16 years of age to compete. The club formed & certified a new track this year and the riders have all learnt more riding skills and have become more confident in their riding ability from competing on the Borgie Track than any other current CMXC track, mainly due to the challenges the track offers, i.e. sweeping uphill turns, fast descents and of course the newly formed tabletop. Various levels of improvement were evident in all riders in all classes throughout the year & a new shield was awarded to the most Improved Quad Rider as well as the most Improved Rider. There was a tie in the votes for both of these awards so 4 lucky individuals shared the 2 shields for the next 12 months. Many thanks from the Club go to the folks at the SACU office, Mr. & Mrs. John Henderson of Scrabster Farm & Sutherland Estates for the use of the land throughout the year, John Baikie at Caithness Photographic, David Struthers for maintaining the clubs website, Willie Mackay for the trophies, chef2you Catering, A. & S. OBrien for their help with the Borgie venue, Paul Wordingham for the photos and to Linda McAdie for agreeing to present the trophies to all of the riders.
