Charlie McKerron - Fiddle
Carol-Anne Mackay - Accordion

One of Scotland's finest fiddle players, Charlie McKerron has been a member of Capercaillie, Scotland's foremost Celtic band, for 12 years. They have sold over a million albums and toured in 25 countries. Recently Charlie bas been playing with his own band – Session A9 – and is a much requested tutor. Charlie was one of the tutors at the workshop held in Wick in November 2003.

 

Carol-Anne Mackay comes from Strathy on the North Coast of Sutherland. Since starting playing at the age of nine, Carol-Anne has notched up many years of successful performing. As well as undertaking many solo engagements, she has toured throughout Scotland, England, Europe and America with the bands Ḍchas and Anam. Her strong, clean style possesses vigour, spirit and sensitivity, which has marked her out as a much sought-after artiste and tutor.
  • Adult Fee: £25 – Child Fee (age 16 or under): £20
    Fee is inclusive of the whole day
    This is a chance to be taught by two of Scotland’s best musicians and also to meet up and have informal sessions with other musicians.
    Notes:
  • Informal sessions will be held as combined classes – ie one session for Accordions & Fiddles combined.
  • Children aged 16 or under, on the day of the workshop, require the signature of a parent or guardian.
  • Please contact Gordon Gunn if you wish only to attend the recital and Q&A session at 1515hrs. This can be arranged for a fee of £5 and will include coffee before the recital.
  • Cancellations made three days or more before the event will be entitled to a full refund.
  •  In the event of this workshop being cancelled, a full refund will be given.
  • Should we have to change tutors, due to circumstances out with our control, a complete refund will be given should you not wish to attend.
