A Bristol based band called Actual Size will be in Thurso  as part of a Highland tour. The band have been around for a few years now, had a brief encounter with Tom Jones record label, but are now in the process of courting some new major labels.

YEHUDI MENUHIN'S LIVE MUSIC NOW! TOURS TO WICK AND THURSO
Live Music Now, a charitable scheme founded by the late Lord Menuhin in 1977, will present ten performances in various Wick and Thurso community venues between 10 and 13 March.  Wick born accordionist and pianist, James Ross, will perform for children with special educational needs, adults with learning disabilities, primary school children and elderly people.

Karen Steven a Caithness violinist has brought out her next CD with more local connections.  
Karen says "Two years ago I was asked to represent Caithness and was commissioned by the Highland Festival to compose some music to be performed at their millennium concert in Eden Court Theatre, Inverness.

Come Over The Ord -  Video Featuring Caithness 
One of the latest releases on video from Ross Records is this compilation made in the summer of 2002 of traditional music from Caithness musicians.  It is available from Ross Records run by Gibson Ross who was born and brought up in Wick.  Apart from the local musicians it is set against great Caithness scenery.  Also in local shops.

New Band Rising -
SUX is a hit in Lybster
The boys played the under 18 gig in Lybster  to help raise funds for the local youth club.  A great turnout heard the guys play a range of numbers from Lennard Skinner to Jimmy Eat World.  they gave it their all for two and a half hours and were so well received they have already been asked to play again in Lybster and are already booked for a further two gigs in Dunbeath.
