PLAY GROUP - LITTLE NIPPERS
Little Nippers offers high quality pre-school education in a purpose built space, with plenty of crafts, activities and lots of fun guaranteed! We aim to send children home happy and enthused about their day, with plenty of news for parents and carers. All our staff are highly trained and fully disclosed and we are subject to regular inspections by both HMIe and the Care Commission.

Our sessions are:
Morning Session (Monday to Friday for 3 year olds)
9.15-11:45
Afternoon Session (Tuesday and Thursday for 2 years 6 months)
12:30 - 2:00

WRAP AROUND CARE
We also offer wraparound care, which allows families to drop their children off as early as 8:45 am in time for work, have lunch with the staff and other kids and join in the fun with our play sessions. In other words, this is an all day childcare facility, at a cost of £3.60 an hour. This service can only run however if we have enough children attending so to avoid disappointment please contact Kayleigh O'Connor on 01955606065 and ask for details.

Childcare places are available for children 2 years 6 months onwards. We have a number of funded places, as well as unfunded, so please do get in touch with us on 01955 606065.

MAKING WAVES AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
Our sessions run Monday-Friday, 3-15-5:30

Our after school club is a great place for making new friends and relaxing after a hard day at school. We have a pool table, air hockey, arts and crafts materials, playstation and of course a Wii! We have a chill out room for watching DVDs on rainy afternoons, surfing the web on our new laptops and staff are always ready to participate in more active activities!

After School Club costs £2.50 per hour plus 50p for the taxi.

We use the local taxi company Johnny's Taxis, with fully vetted drivers to pick up children from local schools and bring them to the Family Centre. At present this service is only available for those attending Wick primary schools. However children from outside Wick are always welcome.

MAKING WAVES HOLIDAY CLUB

Making Waves after school club aims to be open fifty weeks of the year so that we can provide a friendly and familiar atmosphere for the children that attend, we only close for two weeks at Christmas time to give staff a well deserved break! The club is run by fully qualified staff and all staff at the centre are also in the process of being registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). We aim to provide fun activities and themed days as well as the occasional outing.

Another new term at Little Nippers, with lots of exciting plans for the year ahead. We’ll be doing lots of exploring in our new garden, and we hope to be welcoming some very special visitors from Bangladesh later in the term. We still have a few places available, so please get in touch if you have a Little Nipper who would like to join in the fun.

New Garden Open!
Our outside space has had a complete garden makeover, with many thanks due to Homebase for their generosity in providing plants and a wee bit of hard graft with digging and planting. Thanks also to the Criminal Justice Team for their efforts

The garden looks beautiful, with plenty of flowers and herbs for children to explore and it makes the outdoor space a lot more attractive to our little ones. We are looking forward to late summer picnics and racing around on trikes at the start of term.

Chill out room finished
Our chill out room, designed by mums who use the Family Centre regularly, has been finished at last. Again, we owe our thanks to the Criminal Justice team for their excellent painting work, and to the Local Action Fund for financing the project.

The chill out room has lovely leather sofas for relaxing in, with ambient lighting and is the perfect place for a wee cup of coffee, or for a more ‘laid back’ meeting. It’s also the ideal space for older children to enjoy their playstation tournaments.
