If you have a child with special needs, or if your work brings you into contact with one, then there will be times when you need information.

C.H.I.P. is an Information Point set up specifically to answer your questions. Phone or call in at our office at The Birnie Child Development Centre, Raigmore Hospital,

Inverness IV2 3UJ

Tuesday 9am-12noon and 1pm to 4pm Wednesday and Thursday 1pm-4pm.

We know that people caring for a child with any kind of disability often have a desperate need for information. Whether living in a remote rural area or a large town, parents can feel very isolated. We want them to know that they are only a phone call away from reliable information.

This service is also for professionals working with children with all kinds of special needs.

Our information officer has access to existing data-bases and is also building up a data-base for the Highlands, so please let us know what is available in your area, so we can tell others.

Ask about anything at all, for example:-

  • Equipment

  • Holidays

  • Benefits

  • Respite

  • Support Groups

We may be able to deal with your query at once. If not, we will find out and get back to you as soon as possible.

Please phone, write or call in, Tuesday 9am-12noon and 1pm to 4pm; Wednesday and Thursday 1pm-4pm. 24 hour answerphone available.
