March 2004 The portacabin is joined to the school via a corridor which was installed by the Highland Council and is now very much part of the school. Mrs Eileen Sutherland, Head Teacher at Reay Primary School said "This has made a huge difference as we now have a dedicated classroom for P7 pupils rather than a shared area which previously meant the class had to move away from their desks and out of the room every time it was needed by another class. The new portacabin means that the pupils have a quiet pleasant room in which to work." Pictured in their new classroom are the P7 pupils with L to R: Eileen Sutherland, Sandy Christie of Johnson Controls Ltd, Jacqueline Harrison and Norman Harrison, Dounreay Director. The transportation of the portacabin from Dounreay to Reay Primary School was arranged by Johnson Controls and Simpsons Crane Hire provided the use of a crane to lift the portacabin into position. Following the visit to the new classroom Mr and Mrs Harrison were given a tour of the school and Mrs Harrison was presented with a bouquet of flowers from one of the pupils. |
