Newsletter 9 March 2005

Dear Parent

Interim Newsletter – 9.3.05

Enterprise Education - My apologies for the delay in getting specific information to you, but one of the main issues with enterprise in education is giving the children a big say in the planning. However, I am aware you need to know timings so this short Newsletter will give you the details you need. The children are currently preparing an advertising flier and this will follow shortly.

The Spring Fayre will be held on Wednesday 23 March and stalls will be open from 1.45 – 3.15 p.m. All classes will have their sales tables set up in the hall except P5.

· P1 Edible Easter Nests
· P2 Decorated Easter Egg Cups with Cream Eggs
· P3 Decorated Pots with Home Grown Plants
· P4 Mini Chocolate Boxes
· P5 French Cafι (open to invited guests from P5 only)
· P6 Funky Foam Factory Pencil Toppers & Bookmarks
· P7u Easter Gift Packs (card & magnet)
· P7d Easter Recipe Books

Prices of items will be detailed in the children’s own advertising information. It will be the responsibility of individual classes to decide where profits will be going. This may be donated to charity, used to purchase something for the school or it may even be as a treat for the children or a combination of any of the foregoing.

When you come to the Fayre you will be able to collect your child(ren) from their class(es) and take them with you to make any purchases. If you are unable to come along due to work commitments, your child can purchase items on your behalf. Older pupils will be allowed to do this independently and younger ones (P1-3) will be given a P7 buddy to escort them round. It would be useful if you could indicate whether you will manage or not so that we will be able to arrange timing and buddies in advance.

School Meal Changes – Wednesday Week 1 – replace apple, banana and date Charlotte with fruit sponge. Tuesday Week 2 – replace sun dried tomato bread with a tuna, egg or salad sandwich and remove bread and butter pudding. Thursday Week 3 – remove fruit loaf and custard.

Yours sincerely
LILIAN M WARK
Head Teacher
