Newsletter 17 February 2006

Dear Parent

Newsletter – 17.02.06

Big Heart Day – The final figure for this after all money was collected was £517.85 of which £251 was sent to the Earthquake Appeal and £266.85 to the Tsunami Appeal. Thanks again to everyone who contributed in any way.

Science Education – My thanks to everyone who came to the presentation last Wednesday night. Everyone seemed to enjoy the hands-on experience and my congratulations to those whose egg remained intact when dropped from the top of the ladder!
Next week sees the launch of our Homework Packs. As this will be done in groups and alongside the science work in some classes, it may be a few weeks before your child has their first bag, but all children will have their first bag this term. As these bags have taken a long time to put together and have been quite costly in both materials and time, it is very important that they are looked after well. In fact, the books in them, in many cases, are now out of print and cannot be replaced at all. I would therefore ask that you complete the tear-off slip at the bottom of this letter to say that you have read the attached information sheet about our science programme and your role in the children’s science homework. Children will not be allowed to take home any homework pack until you have completed this.

Making Waves After School Club – Along with your Newsletter on 18.01.06 you received a leaflet about this After School Club. It is now in operation and parents wishing their child to go should contact the Wick Family Centre on 606065. To assist the school any pupil going to this should come into the school in the morning and write their name on the appropriate sheet on the Bus Table which is in reception beside the Lunch Booking Table. At the end of the day children should come to the school hall where they will be met and escorted to transport.

Yours sincerely
LILIAN M WARK
Head Teacher
