As children in P1-7 will have to walk
past the works area to access their playground, can I ask all parents to
remind their child(ren) of the dangers of entering a building site.
This will reinforce the message we will be giving them in school. Thank
you.
CHRISTMAS RECYCLING
CHAS, (Childrens Hospice
Association Scotland) the charity we support with our collection of ink
cartridges also collect mobile phones. If anyone was lucky enough to
get a new mobile this Christmas, please consider disposing of your old
one by donating it to this charity. We will be collecting mobile phones
until Tuesday, 31 January.
We will also be collecting old
Christmas cards for recycling up to Friday, 20 January for recycling.
HEAD LICE - Please be vigilant and
check childrens heads regularly!
Schools are no longer
permitted to issue alert letters to all parents. If we become aware of
anyone having head lice we will only contact the parent/carer of that
child. This will be done by letter or a personal telephone call.
ENROLMENT
Adverts will be appearing
in the local press soon informing parents of the enrolment arrangements
for P1 and Nursery 3 & 4 pupils for next session. Please watch out for
these and pass the information to anyone you know with children of the
appropriate age.
EDINBURGH TRIP
 FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES
P7 pupils and parents will
be participating in two fundraising activities this term in preparation
for our residential trip in Term 4. The first fundraiser will be a
Coffee Morning to be held in Thurso Town Hall on Saturday, 28 January.
This will be followed by a sponsored walk to Scrabster and back on
Wednesday 1 February weather permitting.
If parents from other classes would
like to help out in any way please contact the school office to make
arrangements. We will have a general sponsor form at the office for
anyone wishing to support the P7s by sponsoring me to complete the
walk. After over indulging at Christmas I think I need to walk twice
the distance!!
SCHOOL BOARD
Copies of School Board
minutes are available on the school website and also on the notice board
outside the office. The next meeting will be held on Monday, 23 January
